It’s time for the London 2012 Olympics!

I am thrilled that it is time to welcome the London 2012 Olympic Games!

Since I was a kid, I have always loved watching the winter and summer festivities.

The history and the locations are captivating.  I’m fond of tradition and it’s incredible that the Games can unite so many cultures in the spirit of competition.

For me, this is the ultimate event.  The energy, the effort, the dedication…it’s remarkable.

Herb Ritts: LA Style at the Getty Center – Day Trip Travel Series

Wether you’re a local or a visitor, you need to slip away for a few hours and visit the Getty Center.  It’s the perfect venue for a day trip.

Upon arrival, you’re instantly transported into a serene and calming world.  As the winding tram makes its way up the hillside and if the smog’s cooperating,  killer views of West Los Angeles are to be had!

What I love most, it that you don’t even have to leave the city for a mini break – talk about accessible.

Initially, it was all about the Herb Ritts: LA Style photography exhibit, but I grabbed a guide anyway.  With kitten heels tapping on the limestone as I made my way out to the courtyard, I was excited about what I would encounter.

Loving Spring

What a gorgeous Spring day!

I’m still trying to kick the bug I picked up during my road trip (a.k.a. my souvenir) and am loving the warmer weather.

I’ve enjoyed my afternoon running errands.  I noticed the tourist vans around Los Angeles, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills in full force….good sign for tourism.  Everyone seemed happy to snap away on their cameras and ohhed and ahhed over the sights.

On my way home I spotted banners advertising the Herb Ritts photography exhibit at LACMA here in Los Angeles.  That is definitely a must!  Will keep you posted if/when I go and what it’s all about.  It would be a great fit for my “Day Trip Travel Series.”

Makes me wonder what everyone is up to for their spring break.  Hope it’s memorable & filled with adventure!

Day Trips in Los Angeles

The air is brisk, friends and family are in town, and the holidays are upon us.

Whether you are a visitor or have visitors, it’s a great idea to have a few standby day trips for the inevitable time when everyone is burned-out from shopping and feasting.

I love day trips.  They’re a great way to squeeze in some culture and feel as though you’re getting away, even if it is just for a few hours!

Have a look at a couple of my November Day Trips to see what I’ll be checking out in Los Angeles:
