Tour of Asia? How LUXE!

Luxe - Asian Tour Box

I am head over heals for LUXE City Guides!

Less is more… They are witty, sassy, informative, and compact.  This accordion style travel guide is also linked to an up-to-the-minute app for online updates.

Have you seen the latest?  Take a peek at their “Asian Grand Tour Box” in honour of the Year of the Snake.  Not only are the cover graphics heavy on lush and gloss, but tucked inside you’ll find in-the-know content featuring Bali, Bangkok, Beijing, Hanoi, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo.  What can I say… beauty and brains!

Check out the complete array of LUXE City Guides charting: Europe & the Middle East, Asia, North America, and the Pacific.

Have you nabbed a copy?  I’d love to hear what you think of it.

Having a hell of a time at the moment and figured I’m not alone out there.

Ladies… Gentlemen… Travelers… Here’s some food for thought:

Sometimes a destination is about work… at times it’s about pleasure… and at times it’s about fully decompressing and having a bit of an adventure.

I am thrilled that it is time to welcome the London 2012 Olympic Games!

Since I was a kid, I have always loved watching the winter and summer festivities.

The history and the locations are captivating.  I’m fond of tradition and it’s incredible that the Games can unite so many cultures in the spirit of competition.

For me, this is the ultimate event.  The energy, the effort, the dedication…it’s remarkable.

8 of the Most Beautiful Places Around the World by Elle-Rose Williams (Guest Contributor)

This week, UK based guest contributor Elle-Rose Williams lists her top picturesque destinations to be discovered or revisited.  Take a peek and let me know what your thoughts are!

The world is a beautiful place and for those of us with an adventurer’s spirit there are hundreds of beautiful, spiritual, breath-taking places we can discover and explore.  It’s incredible how much variety there is on this amazing planet of ours – so have a read of this list – and make a note of these phenomenal places you shouldn’t miss during your time on earth.

1. New York City

The man-made jungle – this city is definitely a feat of engineering and somewhere everyone needs to see at some point in their lives. The buildings tower above you and you can’t help but feel overwhelmed by it.  In the heart of New York City you’ll find Central Park – the huge expanse of green in a city of busy business men and buzzing tourists, and here you find some gorgeous sights to be seen too.

2. Thailand

Thailand is huge and would take a long time to explore – but every step you take is another beautiful sight or sounds. The beaches in Thailand are especially notable – made famous by the film “The Beach.”  It really is a haven and a paradise.

A Cheese-Lover’s Tour of Paris by Taylor Ritchie (Guest Contributor)

The Eiffel Tower, the River Seine, the Champs-Elysees–these are mere details placed to ornament the real heart of Paris–cheese! Like the moon, Paris is made entirely of cheese for the true cheese connoisseur and my tour of the City of Cheese uncovered delectable morsels of Comte and untold lunches of baked potatoes covered in creamy Reblochon. If you love fromage as much as I do, you’ll discover that Paris is truly the ideal destination for cheese-lovers.

Community – Such a novel idea!

Recently I took a quick weekend trip to Idyllwild, California.  Sitting high above Palm Springs, this quaint and charming town is situated in the San Jacinto Mountains which lie two hours East of Los Angeles.

Idyllwild, California

Idyllwild, California

News of a community based playground project peaked my interest.  A community rallying together…on a volunteer bases…for their kids?  Their shared goal was to erect a full blown multifaceted playground from the ground up.  This seemed too good to be true?  Does outreach and cohesion on this level still exist?
