Shhh… Prepping for a little adventure

20131023-183008.jpg

Guess what guys… I’m prepping for a little adventure!

I’ll be live Tweeting and Instagraming Thursday, October 24th.  There may be a little bit of vlogging going on too… but you’ll have to wait and see.

As a contributor to Dave’s Travel Corner, I will be exploring a bit of charming Catalina Island and getting a more in-depth look at some of the accommodations they have on offer.

There’s nothing like Island life, especially in off season! Tweet me using #MeghanInCatalina with your tips and suggestions.

Can’t wait to share my thoughts with you.

In the comments section below, let me know if you’ve experienced Catalina Island or if you’ve been dying to check it out.

More soon…

Welcome to Candid Moments Vlog!

Hi Guys,

I’ve decided to give something a try…

I’ve created a second YouTube Channel, Candid Moments Vlog!

This second channel will be a follow me around, behind the scenes peek into aspects of the Tourism Industry from the perspective of a budding creator.

I’m testing the waters and am deciding on how much to share and how much to upload, but I thought this could be interesting.

What do you think?

In the comment section below, leave me a link to your YouTube channel and I’ll be sure to check it out.

Thanks,
Meghan Sig

In my pursuit to explore all things travel, I’ve delved into another platform… the world of YouTube!

As I gain more experience and crack the code of iMovie and HD cameras I will be uploading videos regularly, in addition to my blog posts. My video content will be a mix of first hand footage and photos of my experiences. You can expect themes like: Beauty & Fashion Tips, Product & Service Reviews, Day Trip Suggestions, & Event Coverage.

I’m even toying with a second channel, Candid Moments, which will offer a more behind the scenes, impromptu, day-in-the-life vlog style content. More on this later…

Please subscribe so you don’t miss the latest travel content on Meghan’s Guilty Pleasures Travel Blog. Join the conversation and join the community – new videos weekly!

In the comment section below, leave me your YouTube channel info and I’ll be sure to check it out.

Thanks guys,

Nature’s Retreat – Mt San Jacinto

Just finished the first leg of my trip to the San Jacinto Mountains!

Here’s a little taste of my few days in a quaint mountain town.  A little rain, a little sunshine, amazing food, and great memories go a long way.

Now scrambling to pack for the East Coast!  My red-eye leaves tonight…

Have You Discovered Germany?

20130319-142052.jpg

Are you one of the 53% of travelers that’s visited Germany for its art, architecture, food, and culture?

Recently I had the pleasure of attending the German National Tourism Board’s media luncheon.

What a vibrant & sophisticated culture! Architecture, food, and history seem ready to seize you around every corner.

In the recent past, I’ve enjoyed the opportunity of exploring a bit of Hamburg.  I found it chic, historic, beautiful, and savored the flavor!

New Hampshire – First Days, First Impressions

I’m having trust issues with my navigation!

omg…..  What an adventure!

We left the Bay Area of California for the second leg of our business/pleasure road trip.

Heavy weather was expected so we threw together a game plan and figured that we would alter the highways on an as needed basis.  The Bay Area was getting torrential rain and the Sierras were expecting their fair share of snow, so we decided to get a jump on things and head out a bit early.

I can confirm that I’m having trust issues with my navigation!  I am not a fan of the hopeless feeling of being lost.  I don’t find it adventurous or “part of the fun.”  I have flashes of those mock-horror stories on National Geographic or that I’m about to take a page out of a Bear Grylls survival story.

On the road in the Bay Area of California

So excited to be on a getaway weekend!

I’ve been having such a great time unwinding and catching up on some much-needed R&R.

I work on a variety of projects and typically have a crazy schedule.  It’s so refreshing to have my biggest decision be which cute restaurant to savor a leisurely breakfast in.

It’s been sunny and brisk.  I’m almost too excited to sit still.  As much as I want to rest, I also want to do as much as I can.  I should nap….No I should check out the Jacuzzi.”  “I should read in bed…No I should stroll around the Marina and take some photos.”  It’s a happy internal struggle.  I’ve had a good amount of peace and quite and I also let my hair down & went to a fab party last night.

For whatever reason I’ve been wide awake since 6am.  The storm that has had so much hype has finally arrived and it’s absolutely pouring right now!  So beautiful and keeps the landscape such a lushes green.

I should be in store for a bit more exploring in the San Francisco area and then off to my next leg of the road trip.

There’s nothing like re-energizing your spirit!

True Passion

You know you have a vivid tangible passion for something when you experience a boost of exhilaration.  The slightest mention of a passion related opportunity suddenly makes the day feel brighter and makes possibilities seem endless.

My passion, if you can’t tell already, is traveling.  I have been pretty office bound lately and inundated with responsibility which has resulted in me being pretty much tied to my desk.  I’ve been able to take in local events or day trips, which are great bite-size experiences that are very accessible, but really, I’m after the big trips.  Honestly, my mouth waters at the prospect of needing my passport, foreign currency, and manageable maps.

There is a strong possibility that I will be going on a business/pleasure trip this week.  I’m in the process of sorting out the details, but I have to say it gives me a spring in my step.  I feel that all passionate travelers can feel suffocated and even stagnant when they’re in their neighborhood too long.  There’s a burst of exhilaration that happens when you find out there’s a pending trip.  Suddenly you can get things done faster!

Although this isn’t a huge foreign excursion, it’s still a several day multicity affair.  So bring it on.

Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing what this week holds and gaining more material to share as content.

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend.
