This second channel will be a follow me around, behind the scenes peek into aspects of the Tourism Industry from the perspective of a budding creator.

I’m testing the waters and am deciding on how much to share and how much to upload, but I thought this could be interesting.

Pinterest Collective: Autumn Travel Fashion

The temperature’s starting to drop, thicker, heavier, and richly colored pieces are starting to catch your eye, and there’s the faintest hint of a seasonal buzz in the air.  It’s officially Autumn!

I am elated to share that a shiny new iMac has joined my family!  While I’m organizing and getting my digital life in order, I thought it would be a great opportunity to share some Autumn travel fashion ideas.  

I love the idea of capsule wardrobes and tight color palettes for travel.  Less is definitely more!

Capsule Wardrobes & the Carry On Luggage Challenge!

I love the rush of finalizing travel plans!

Over the weekend I was able to confirm that May will be a hub of activity with two back-to-back adventures.  A little bit of West Coast, a little bit of East Coast – hell, a little bit of Western Europe to add to the mix would be fab… but I shouldn’t get ahead of myself. 

Once the initial excitement tones down, the daunting task of packing becomes a reality.  I love my pieces and my products, but for some reason I cringe at the thought of systematically weeding through everything.  I don’t know about you, but I hate packing.  I love planning, researching, booking, going, and documenting – but dread packing. 

So I’ve decided to challenge myself to not only stick to a capsule wardrobe, but… dare I say… only taking carry-on luggage.  I am open to tips & suggestions for those of you that are savvy travelers.  My most shinning moment is scaling things down to an overflowing tote bag and not exceeding 50 lbs at check-in! 

Introducing B2B “Blogger to Blogger”

I’m a fan of helping one another when and where we can.

My standpoint has always been rooted in creating a dialogue. Traveling, blogging, and social media are a two-way street. We all learn from our experiences & why not share them with one another to some degree.

I created my blog & continue to pour myself into it because I keep discovering things that I feel travelers need to know about. Be it a tip, link, or an easier way to do something, I share my varied content with all viewers as I would with a close friend – ‘You need to know about this…!’

I’ve decided to take this a step further and also create or repost content pertaining to blogging. I frequently come across templates, articles, industry news, or techniques that would be of interest to other bloggers – no matter what your niche is.

Beauty Goes Social – Event Highlights & Giveaway!

I had the pleasure of listening to a panel of beauty influencers discuss their experiences with social media at the Beauty Goes Social event on February 21st.

DigitalLA did a great job moderating the discussion and Q&A hosted at eSalon’s brand new headquarters in Culver City, CA. 

For about an hour and a half, six female gurus openly discussed their experiences, stats, engagement, trends, tricks, popular apps, time invested, and results gained.  Ultimately, everyone was in agreement that authenticity and relatability are the keys to success. 

Burberry – Valentine’s Event

Last week I was invited to a Valentine’s Day event hosted by Burberry.  A few sips of Rose Champagne and a nibble of mini chocolate cupcakes whilst surrounded by the latest Spring/Summer 2013 leathers, silks, and tailoring that defines Burberry was… heavenly.

A few things obviously caught my eye.  I spotted a few pieces that would make for a great travel ensemble. They lend themselves to being mixed and matched for a flexible travel wardrobe.  I can totally picture myself sporting this delicious cropped leather biker jacket, clasping a perfect small leather saddlestitch bowling bag, and tying on an abstract floral print scarf for a pop of color! 

They can be dressed up or down and are completely versatile for making your way through customs, lingering in a museum, or dining in a local haunt.  Pair one or all with flats, skinny jeans, and a couple of bangles for an easy chic look.

Late last week I was working away on my laptop and in a moment, my normal 20/20 seemed a bit off.  Was it the laptop settings?  Was there a glare coming in from the afternoon light?  No, my eyes were just crossing all by themselves!  Did it hurt? No.  Did it freak my out?  Yes.  The whole experience of double vision lasted a few seconds, despite me actively trying to straighten my eyes & focus on something in the distance.  Uggg… let the head games begin.  Fortunately I kept my cool and it was over within moments, but it’s a lesson learned.  It just goes to show how much I’m really on the computer and iPhone.  Enough is enough… talk about a much-needed lifestyle change.

Whether you travel infrequently or are a full-blown jetsetter, no one wants to lug around bulky toiletries and beauty products.

Sure you can use some of the products provided by your hotel, but you never know if it’s really going to mesh with your skin type or color treated hair.  Parched skin and stripped strands are far from globetrotting glam.
