Weekending in the San Jacinto Mountains

Idyllwild Vacation Cabins

Idyllwild Vacation Cabins

What: San Jacinto Mountains

When: May 2013

Where: Two hours East of Los Angeles

Misty clouds creeping through the mountain tops, drops of rain dotting the pine deck, the remarkably refreshing stillness of an early morning… time for a coffee run!

Just two hours East of Los Angeles lie the San Jacinto Mountains.  Once a summer home for bands of Cahuilla Indians, Idyllwild is one of the larger quaint and artsy communities.

Nestled in the forest, this mountain getaway is a welcome change for a weekend trip.

Cafe Aroma Bistro – After Hours!

Musts:

If gazing at the constellations with a drink in hand while soothing your city muscles in the hot tub is your thing…you have to rent a cabin from Idyllwild Vacation Cabins.

If savoring Duck Vin de Muscat – a maple-leaf duck breast, muscat-currant reduction, with roasted pear – while soaking up live music in an artsy bistro setting is your thing… you have to indulge in Cafe Aroma’s fine dining.

While indulging in a few days of R&R, I gratefully squeezed in a travel friendly mani and managed to squeeze in some QT with my pseudo office.
